I can imagine that it feels a bit contradictory to travel during this time. I felt that way too when I was at Schiphol. On the other hand: you work your butt off all year, after months of being in and around the house, you deserve some sunshine and Curaçao is still code yellow. Oh, and you need a negative COVID test to even get on that plane.
Maybe you even booked your ticket earlier (like we did in early March) so yes, I understand if you tell me you want to enjoy the Antillean sunshine for a bit longer. Use your common sense and stick to the rules, that's all the government asks of us.
We are staying at the Marriott Beach Resort at Piscadera Bay. On day 2, everyone knows me by name, followed by the question ‘if I still feel like having a gin and tonic’. You understand: this is a hotel after my own heart. And then I almost forget the private beach with the ridiculous sunsets. The bathroom is set up like a kind of mini-spa. The sushi at Zala Gastro Bar and the quesadillas at the Salty Iguana Ocean Grill.
You understand: the next time I go to Curaçao, I've already found my spot. Oh, and mega tip: five minutes from the Marriott is De Visserij, the hit among locals when it comes to super fresh tuna sashimi and buckets full of shrimp. You didn't hear it from me. Sssst.
