What the actual fuck? Forgive my language, but I just don't know how to express my astonishment otherwise. I saw Lange Frans on Zondag met Lubach and I was completely flabbergasted by what the rapper was spouting. The man from ‘Het land van’ is going on crop circle vacation, accuses the government of pedophilia, and sees the corona crisis as one big hoax to get humanity under control.

In less than five minutes, you get the current repertoire of Frans Christiaan Frederiks presented to you on YouTube. Which has nothing to do with going to Diemen-Zuid, but with conversations where Tisjeboy Jay joins in and podcast maker Sven Hulleman to share their concerns about the blood-drinking elite (?) I tumbled from missing explosions at 9/11 into the drinking of baby blood by the government further to the claim that there is no real food in the supermarket but only manipulated junk.

According to organizations like Viruswaarheid/insanity (what was it again?), people who do not resist the measures are sheeple (the classic contraction between sheep and people). But after Zondag met Lubach, it is just a question of who the sheeple really are. Lange Frans calls it ending up in rabbit hole after rabbit hole after rabbit hole, Lubach simply calls it the algorithm of YouTube and social media that presents you with what you've already clicked on. Give me a day on Facebook and my timeline fills up with cat videos, frolicking puppies, and funny goats. Unfortunately, it doesn't get any more highfalutin than that.

At a certain point, it comes up, I just can't believe I have to write this here, the shooting of Rutte comes up in a conversation with Lange Frans. Something they are of course not going to do, because you still want to sleep well, right? I don't know what I'm hearing. Was it perhaps still laughable before, now it is terrifying. The video with Janet Ossebaard has been viewed more than half a million times. I have hope from well-thinking people who are just as shocked as I am, but I am afraid.

Maybe Frans can break his YouTube circle and watch The Social Dilemma on Netflix, who knows, maybe he will then see how his theories are fed. By an algorithm, a beast of a machine that presents you with what you want to be presented with. Not by the government, but by a tech giant that is out to sell advertisements. Although, there is probably a hoax to think of there too. The government made us do it.

I join Lubach's call to fix the fable funnel, so that we all get to see a bit of everything. Then at least you hear sound and counter-sound, instead of more of the same. Just take a look yourself...
