Very good news about season 3 of YOU

YOU netflix

Maybe it's just me, but sometimes it seems like the series I love the most also take the longest when it comes to their next seasons. Probably also because I'm impatient and binge-watch them at a rapid pace, but it's definitely annoying. Sex Education I would have preferred it to come yesterday rather than today, and I feel like I've been waiting for years for that new season of YOU.

The third season was confirmed back in January, and then it went really quiet around Joe and his stalker tendencies. Okay, okay, there was a pandemic that took over the world, but a real freaky stalker wouldn't let that stop them. In fact, just a thought: that one-and-a-half-meter rule would be ideal for Joe. Everyone keeps their distance, and that way you can easily keep an eye on someone, right? Hmmm. Food for thought.

But anyway, that third season. Let's start with the bad news, so we can get that out of the way: we shouldn't expect it online this year, okay? No, that's really due to corona. Because of that, the filming only starts in — don't be shocked — April 2021. Now for the really bad news: the release date will most likely be in the last quarter of 2021. In other words: in a year. Totally sucks.

BUT there was also good news, and that's what I want to talk about, of course. Two new actors have been cast for major roles in the third season: Shalita Grant and Travis VanWinkle. Both names are unknown to me, but you might have seen them in NCIS (Grant) and in Hart of Dixie (VanWinkle).

Shalita Grant will take on the role of Sherry, who — I guess — will move in near Joe and Love. Could this be the infamous neighbor at the end..? I'm betting on yes. Sherry is an influencer and mother, who gets the classy title mom-fluencer, and she's a sly fox. She brings Love into her social circles but has quite a double agenda. Mark my words: this will be Joe's new obsession, he will have an affair with her, and then she will blackmail him with it. I'm definitely going to be right.

Travis VanWinkle will play Cary, a rich guy who becomes friends with Joe. It could be that this Cary and Sherry are a couple, and I actually think so. YOU has a thing for strange names (Love Quinn? Forty Quinn?), so the combination of Sherry and Cary fits perfectly here.

And now... Let the waiting begin. Unfortunately.
