Feeling ‘meh’ during a full moon: can you do something about it?

I have been feeling a bit strange for two days. Not quite myself. Huge headache and a bit meh, that's what I wrote on Instagram yesterday. Meanwhile, I find it all just a bit too coincidental that every time I feel completely withdrawn and different, it turns out to be around the full moon.
The moon seems mysterious. If you are sensitive to her energy, you can't just stop that. I think it also has something to do with high sensitivity. Why does one person feel it and the other does not? Headaches, stomach aches, restlessness, poor or no sleep, being easily triggered... And all of that during and around the full moon. But the main question is: can you make it less ‘troublesome’ for yourself? Yes, you can. By delving into it more.
I asked if there happened to be a moon expert among my followers who could tell me more about the cycle of that big silver ball. It turned out I wasn't the only one with that question. Hundreds of women (okay, and a few men) seem to want to understand that full moon better. A ton of messages, pleas, insights, and tips came in.
This is what I have learned so far about the moon:
1. The moon has a certain energy that influences when it is high and low tide on Earth. It is a kind of magnetic force. But here it comes: people are just like cucumbers, right? We are mostly made of water. So during the full moon, our water is literally being pulled, and some people feel that.
2. This whole moon thing goes really, really, really far back. What do you think lunatic stands for? It also refers to moon sickness (luna = moon), and there are many stories (sometimes also legends) about people going ‘crazy’ around the full moon. Even in the New Testament, it is written that Jesus healed someone of this moon sickness (thanks, Melanie!).
3. So far, it is clear: if you resist it and see it as something negative – boohoo, full moon – you only strengthen that. If you just accept it and act accordingly, you learn to handle every full moon better. It is now time to take a step back and take care of yourself. Enjoy some pampering, meditation, seek nature, and above all, don't make it too difficult.
4. Do you suffer from insomnia during the full moon? Then try meditating before going to sleep, because the effects of yoga and meditation are also stronger this evening. Last night, I lay in the bath and tried the Full Moon Meditation live on YouTube. My desperate self won over my skeptical self, and I must say: this was really quite chill. Meditation Moments (they also have an app) does this kind of full moon meditations every month. Note to self: moon yoga is also something to delve into.
5. After your meditation, head straight to the bedroom, sprinkle a few drops of sleep spray (the one from Rituals is nice) or calming oil on your pillow, and bet that you'll sleep well?
6. Are you feeling emotional? Don't forget that all your emotions are amplified during this moon phase, so yes, also any negative feelings. Therefore, take a moment to reflect on what you feel or write down your emotions. After that, try to shift your focus to positive thoughts. What went well in the past month? And what are you grateful for?
7. These are the Instagram accounts I saw come through in my inbox for more tips from people who have been working with the moon cycle for a longer time and have many tips.

Furthermore, I received many tips:
- The moon calendar from sisters Lieke and Jetteke van Lexmond (really mentioned very often, so it seems to be a good one).
- The book Living with the Moon Phases, also mentioned a lot.
- Happinez has a moon training to learn more about the moon, if you're interested.
- The Foodie-ness podcast about the full moon.n
- A tip from myself: exercise or another physical activity ensures that you sleep better. Definitely don't skip it now!
- Consciously focus your attention on positive emotions and thoughts so that they are amplified by the moon.
Finally: be kind to yourself. Because the energy of the moon remains the same. You can learn to live with it. Don't resist it, but go with the flow. Use the energy for reflection, letting go, and setting goals. You got this. On to less trouble and more enjoyment from the moon!
P.S.: Or as follower Melanie said: I think it's also a cool thought that we might have werewolf DNA.? Awooooo.
