André Hazes dedicates new song to his son

With a title like ‘Little Big Friend’, we figured it out pretty quickly, but with the photo that was posted on Instagram, there is no doubt left: Andrés new song is about his son Dré Jr.
What you might not know about me is that I have a great weakness for Dutch hits like those of André Hazes (Junior and Senior), Tino Martin, and Wolter Kroes. So you understand that I read the lyrics on Instagram and went straight to Spotify to listen to it with my own ears.

I actually expected a song that would be more in the vein of ‘She Believes in Me’ and ‘The Kite’, as in: very sing-along material for the pub, but this is not it. It is genuinely a sweet song and it sounds very straight from the heart.
‘Maybe I wanted it too much
What I myself have not known
And that's why it just doesn't work’
I think we all know that André has received quite a bit of criticism lately. It has been quite an eventful year: from Bridget to a marriage proposal and to a new relationship with Sarah. It's easy to talk about those things and forget that he is just a human being, and a father.
Yes, my weakness for this kind of Dutch songs might be big enough (or my weakness for André might just be that), but I do feel this song, you know. You don't sing along to it as carelessly as his monster hit Leef (but to be fair: that lyric has very little to it), but I find this side of André at least just as enjoyable. Raw, honest, and vulnerable.
‘Little big friend
From now on, you will see me less
I'm sorry because you didn't deserve this
My little big friend’
