Armie Hammer has checked into rehab

It was quiet for a while around Armie Hammer, but now news about him has come out; he is said to have checked into a rehab clinic. Can I get a ‘hallelujah, finally’ here? This should have happened months, if not years, ago?

In case you missed it: there was quite a bit of fuss around Armie. In short: several women have come forward with their stories, claiming that Armie had abused them. One of them, who calls herself Effie, has since filed a rape report. This same girl already exposed all his DMs and messages last January. Then more of his exes came forward who claimed to have had the same experience.

Additionally, they said he had some remarkable fetishes, such as a fondness for cannibalism and quite intense BDSM. He himself dismisses this entire media circus as ‘fetish shaming’, which, to no one's surprise, didn't really work. He was dropped by his agency, his PR firm also dropped him like a hot potato, and he fled to the Cayman Islands, where his ex currently lives with their kids.

And then it went quiet. The very first lesson you learn in Hollywood PR is: put on the sackcloth and check yourself into a rehab clinic. So it surprised quite a few people that Armie didn't do this and dismissed all the accusations as ‘bullshit’.

About a month ago, it came out that he supposedly had a new girlfriend in the Cayman Islands and that she was ‘so incredibly good to him’ and he was ‘happier than ever’. Yeah, right. Nobody believed that, and that's why this feels a bit like a last-ditch effort to salvage his image: going to that rehab clinic after all.

Of course, this is separate from the fact that he absolutely needs help. Besides all the accusations, a video also surfaced in which he is snorting white powder while driving. He claims that it was definitely not drugs, and his wild look and appearance would all be manageable and not due to drugs.

But well, now he has checked himself into rehab for his problems with alcohol, drugs, and sex. I predict: he will attribute this entire PR drama to a sex addiction that he will have completely under control after this visit. I would bet a hundred euros on that.
