Awkward: Ben Affleck is quite publicly striking out on dating app Raya

Ben Affleck is single and ready to mingle, if you hadn't noticed yet. He briefly dated actress Ana de Armas, but that's been over for a while now. And as you may have heard, Ben doesn't seem too broken up about it; he's been spotted a lot lately with Jennifer. His ex. No, not that Jennifer, not Jennifer Garner, no: J.Lo. Oh yes, 2003 called: they wanted their it-couple back.
But before Benniffer 2.0 seemed to become a thing again, you could find Ben on the dating app Raya. Think of it as a sort of Tinder for the elite. This is also the app where Monica Geuze met her boyfriend Robbert. To become a member of Raya, you need to receive an invitation, and even then there's a waiting list and a tough selection committee. But hey, if you're in, you have a chance to match with a Robert Pattinson, or indeed a Ben Affleck.
Because the chance of encountering celebs on Raya is, in the US at least, still quite large. And you would think there are no fake accounts (due to the strict selection committee), yet Nivine Jay was quite doubtful when she had a new match with Ben Affleck. She considered the chance that it was really the Oscar-winning celebrity to be quite small.
And what do you do then? Right, in Nivine's case, you tell him that you don't believe for a second that it's really him and you throw that match away. No time for that. Until you open your Insta afterwards and have a DM... From Ben Affleck. In which he sends a video. ‘Nivine, IT’S ME.’ Hoooo shit, can you somehow retrieve that match?

Hilarious video and especially Ben Affleck with his: ‘it’s meeee.’ You must be completely shocked when you suddenly receive that in your inbox? Nivine does have a bit of regret for throwing that match straight into the trash, and now of course it's too late. Now he's already moved on to J.Lo. Something about getting up means losing your place.
By the way, not everyone is completely convinced of the authenticity of the video. Some TikTokers claim that she paid for it, through a service that mainly D-list celebrities use. You know the type: where you can pay to have a celebrity record a video, for a birthday for example or a wedding, or in this case a failed Raya match. I find it very hard to believe that an A-lister like Ben Affleck would be seriously interested in that, so I assume it really is what it seems... Missed opportunity, Nivine. Missed opportunity.
