Behind-the-scenes facts about Bridgerton

There's a good chance that you, just like almost all of the Netherlands I believe, are also busy with Bridgerton. Or have already finished it. It's a bit the Netflix hit of the moment. And I get it: it's put together very smoothly, with beautiful costumes and plenty of drama, and also with Julie Andrews. That couldn't really miss.
So I can't just watch a series, I want to know everything right away, and so I scour IMDb, Twitter, and Instagram for some fun behind-the-scenes facts. Fun facts or very juicy ones, I find it all fine. Especially if I've already finished the series. Hereby I present to you the facts behind Bridgerton. And of course, I'll keep you updated if there's more news about season 2. Because it seems more than logical that it will come.
1. The entire cast had to undergo six weeks of ‘regency training’ in preparation. There they learned things like proper horseback riding, the right etiquette, how to dance correctly, and everything about history. Tough bootcamp, I imagine.
2. The cast tried to take many of the props with them, with little success. Apparently, the costume department was quite strict and continuously ensured that everything was returned. No souvenir for you.
3. The corsets were made by Mister Pearl, or the best of the best; he also made one for none other than Kim Kardashian, which she wore during the Met Gala in 2019.
4. The Bridgerton and Featherington families each have their own symbol that you can spot on their clothing: the Bridgertons have a bee and the Featheringtons have a butterfly.
5. This is not the first time that Shonda Rhimes and Julie Andrews have worked together; they also did so in The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement.
6. Claudia Jessie, who played Eloise Bridgerton, was – understandably – very happy with the role. But for her, it was extra special because she simply really needed money, as she was quite broke. She was living on a boat that was about to collapse when she got the call and the news that she got the role. Now she's fortunately a bit more comfortable.
7. Ben Miller, who plays Lord Featherington, made a last-minute change. He was studying for his PhD at Cambridge University but then decided to choose stand-up comedy and acting instead of physics.
8. And that second season? Yes, of course, it's coming. The creators are looking forward to it, the cast too, and judging by the streaming numbers, it's all going to be fine. And hopefully a bit quickly too, if possible.
