Celebrities got away with the worst things

Through the whole scandal surrounding Armie Hammer I'm completely back into the celebrity scandals. Quite grim, but I was still amazed by what I found. The whole world knows that Armie Hammer is really a creepy guy now. In 2021, cancel culture is still very much present, and I assume that Armie Hammer is 100 percent canceled. And rightly so.
But what about other celebrities? Armie Hammer is now being nailed to the public pillory. Rightly so, of course, but that's not always the case. Especially during the whole #MeToo era, celebrities have gotten away with so much weird shit. I've promised myself that I will no longer support such celebrities in any way, but just take a look at this list: there are a lot of movies I can no longer watch and a lot of music I can no longer listen to. Shocking.
1. Roman Polanski
In 1977, when Roman Polanski was 43 years old, six charges were filed against him, including drugging and raping a 13-year-old girl. He was found guilty, but this was in Poland. His solution: flee abroad and continue his career there. That's exactly what he did, for 20 years (and in the meantime won another Oscar). After 20 years, his case is time-barred, so he no longer has to be behind bars.
2. Dr. Dre
Journalist Dee Barnes did not forget about Dre and did not think his music was very good. That didn't sit well with Dr. Dre, who found it an appropriate response to throw her head and the right side of her body against a wall multiple times (while the bodyguards made sure no one could help) and then wanted to throw her down the stairs. When that didn't work, he started kicking her ribs and hands. Barnes managed to escape, and while she was running to the bathroom, he grabbed her from behind and punched the back of her head. What. The. Fuck. It doesn't stop there, by the way: Dr. Dre's ex-wife says he physically assaulted her so badly that she needed plastic surgery.
3. Mark Wahlberg
At the age of 15, he was known for making racist remarks and throwing stones at his black classmates. That's already enough to cancel him, but it gets worse: he assaulted a Vietnamese boy so badly that he has permanent facial disfigurement. Purely because of his ethnicity. His punishment? 45 days in jail, and hardly anyone knows this ever happened.
4. Justin Bieber
Well, sorry, but The Biebs has really not been behaving well. A video has surfaced in which he sings about the N-word and that he's going to join the KKK. By the way, he has said in interviews that he was on drugs at that time and therefore wasn't thinking clearly.
5. Matthew Broderick
Sarah Jessica Parker's husband is a murderer. Wait, what? Yes, when he was in Northern Ireland with Jennifer Grey (Baby from Dirty Dancing), he drove on the wrong side of the road and caused a head-on collision, resulting in the deaths of a mother and daughter. Bizarre, right? He must have paid for that, right? Oh sure: he received a fine of $175 and that was the end of it.
6. Caitlyn Jenner
Also, Caitlyn Jenner should never be allowed on the road again, in my opinion. On February 7, 2015, she caused a traffic accident in LA that resulted in the death of a 70-year-old woman. She was not convicted and arranged a settlement outside of court with the family for $800,000. Side note: opinions are quite divided on whether this could have been prevented by Caitlyn.
7. Woody Allen
This director, I refuse to watch a film of, no matter how good it may be. His marriage to actress Mia Farrow fell apart after she found nude photos of Soon-Yi, Farrow's adopted daughter. It turned out he had an affair with her. He is now married to her. His biological daughter Ronan has publicly accused him for years of having abused her as a child. Why does this man still get a platform?
8. Floyd Mayweather
Maybe you didn't know this yet, but it sounds quite logical: as a professional boxer, your hands are registered as deadly weapons. It may sound tough, but in my opinion, it's justified that boxers are dealt with harshly when they knock someone down. For example, Floyd Mayweather's wife, who was knocked out by her husband. That was on film, and what happened? Oh yes… Nothing.
9. R. Kelly
He married Aaliyah when she was 15 and made sure her parents consented, thus relinquishing parental rights. Just to be clear: he was 27. Now, a 12-year age difference can be fine, but NOT at that age. By the way, he knew her since she was 12.
10. Steven Tyler
The singer of Aerosmith falls into the same category: at 25, he had a relationship with a 16-year-old girl. Her parents also relinquished their parental rights so she could tour with him. What is it with these music stars who don't want anyone their own age?
11. Jared Leto
Mark my words: 2021 will also be the year in which Jared Leto completely falls from grace. The fact that he has his own cult is already bizarre, but the accusations from girls aged 13-15 that he allegedly raped are also increasing. Time’s up, Jared Leto.
12. Emma Roberts
The police were called by the neighbors when she was still with Evan Peters. When the police saw the injuries on Evan, Emma was taken to the station. It's sad to see that domestic abuse where men are the victims is still not really recognized, as Emma still gets many roles and you hardly hear anything about it.
To make it all even worse, I have here a list of more stars who went off with minors.
- Bill Wyman (The Rolling Stones) went off with a 13-year-old girl at the age of 47.
- Jimmy Page had a 14-year-old girlfriend at 27.
- Jerry Lee Lewis married (!) his 13-year-old cousin. She still believed in Santa Claus when they went on their honeymoon.
- Elvis Presley met Priscilla when she was 14 and then started a relationship with her.
- Marvin Gaye made his wife's 15-year-old cousin pregnant. What. The. Fuck.
- Chuck Berry was arrested for traveling through several states with a 14-year-old prostitute.
- Don Henley (of The Eagles) was arrested after being found in bed with two naked girls aged 15 and 16.
- Jerry Seinfeld had a 17-year-old girlfriend (who was still in high school) when he was 39.
So, now time for something more cheerful. I'm going to put on a Disney movie. Oh no…
13. Walt Disney
He refused to hire women in his company, he was a welcome guest at pro-Nazi gatherings, and his earlier films are quite racist.
