These celebs are not as nice in real life
Celebrities really get away with the strangest things. Especially in the time before social media: I have the feeling that some celebs really felt invincible. Take Kevin Spacey, for example, about whom rumors have been circulating for years — which all turned out to be true. But unfortunately, there are more celebs who haven't been behaving well. In the past or now. And — unfortunately again — I really didn't expect it from most of them.
1. John Stamos
Ooooh, I thought this man was so handsome in Full House. He proposed to his girlfriend at Disneyland, my favorite place on earth. But he's not that great after all: years ago he gave an interview to Jane Magazine, in which he said that there was once a drunk fan who clearly wanted to sleep with him. He didn't want that, but a friend of his did. So what did he do: he took the drunk girl to his hotel room, turned off the lights, left, and let his friend in. The fan thought she was having sex with John Stamos, but it was actually a friend of his. Whut? Read the piece here, it came out in 2005.
2. Demi Lovato
This singer has been a bit problematic lately, but the time a fro yo shop was ridiculed was the peak for me. Why would someone with so much reach put their energy into ruining someone's small business? The reason was that they didn't have vegan options, which wasn't even true: they actually did, and all allergies were indicated on their products. Apologies were absent.
3. Ian Somerhalder
He made jokes about wanting kids so badly that he flushed his wife's birth control down the toilet. I don't know, but that doesn't sound very healthy to me. This was incidentally with Nikki Reed. Run Nikki, RUN.
4. Neil Patrick Harris
Noooo. I found this so disappointing to know and I would prefer to go back to the moment when I didn't know. So if you still like him: scroll on for your own good. Neil and his husband threw a party for which they ordered a custom cake. A rather striking one, namely the dead body of Amy Winehouse, shortly after she passed away. What. The. Fuck. 5. Adam Levine
The Maroon 5 singer comes across as so friendly and sympathetic. At least I thought so. That was before I knew he spewed lines like ‘I don’t give autographs to ugly chicks’. To a FAN. Not cool?
6. Scarlett Johansson
Look, I never really understood the whole hype around her. Sure, she's a beautiful woman, but I never thought she was the best actress who ever lived, and she was often treated that way. But when I really lost respect was when I found out that she continuously defends Woody Allen and also claims to support the #metoo movement. Those two things are quite difficult to reconcile in my opinion. Oh, and she also wore a dress from the brand of Weinstein's (ex-)wife, just after all the scandals leaked. By the way, she has also often been photographed with him.
7. Anyone still working with Chris Brown
Just not okay.
