Essential for the holidays: glitter eyeshadow

If there is one thing that cannot be missing from the Christmas dinner this year, it is your glitter eyes. Eyeshadow with a subtle sparkle is just the thing. Even if you're not very skilled with makeup: you can do this. Most shimmers can simply be applied with your fingers. In fact, by applying it with your fingertips (my preference is to use the ring finger because it is the softest), you ensure that the glitters land much more intensely on your eyes. With a brush, it tends to fly all over the place, and often one layer is already enough. For a fun, almost 3D-like effect, you can also choose to combine multiple types and sizes of glitters together. Do you find that a bit exciting? Then start by applying the glitters only on your eyelid and leave it at that. Or do it only in the corner of your eyes, just like Nikkie Tutorials did with Linda de Mol in her tutorial. Subtle, but immediately super festive.

To prevent your face from becoming a glitter party, I advise you to keep a cotton pad, tissue, or special undereye shields under your eyes just in case. Anything that falls off will then land on that and not on your skin. If something still ends up under your eyes or on your face, you can remove it by spraying a clean cotton pad or cloth with hairspray and then gently dabbing it on the spots where the glitters are so that they stick to the spray. When you remove your makeup at the end of the evening, make sure to use eye makeup remover on a cotton pad and let that pad rest on your eyes (so don't start rubbing immediately!). Let it sit for a moment and then start gently rubbing to one side. This way, you prevent a ‘disco ball face’ that you might still be dealing with three days later.
