Hallelujah: Greece is opening in May

At our home, the Jamas'jes were flying around last night. The Greek music started playing and the spanakopita slid – hoppa – into the oven. Greece will open to tourists on May 14, announced Minister of Tourism Theocharis in a statement.
Normally, I go to Greece at least twice a year. It could be on a Greek island or a few nights in Athens or Thessaloniki. I am currently learning Greek and one day I will live there (I promise). You could say that I am quite Greek-minded. I love the country, the people, the culture, and let's not forget the food. Therefore, I find this excellent news, not only for us but also for the Greeks who are so skilled in hospitality.
May 14 is the government's goal. That does not mean you can just take the first available flight, as the Greeks will work with restrictions. You must be able to provide a negative test result or proof of vaccination in advance. Upon entry, the Greek authorities, just like last year, will conduct random testing. There are no costs associated with the tests upon entry or mandatory quarantine. By the way, that quarantine is also shortened by the use of rapid tests, which is nice. Meanwhile, Greece still has the highest number of infections since the beginning of the crisis, particularly found in and around Athens and Thessaloniki.
So Greece, now hoping that the light here for this destination turns yellow in mid-April. I would love to take a trip. To Ikos, for example, for some luxury. or rather Strolling through the streets of Lindos.
