Jennifer Lawrence earns significantly less than Leo DiCaprio

Celebrating Christmas with Leo DiCaprio is possible this year. Well, sort of. And to be honest: it's not necessarily the version of Leo that we all dream of, but he can get away with it. Because he remains, of course, the most handsome man in the world (at least in my opinion). His new movie, Don’t Look Up, comes out on December 24, starring Jennifer Lawrence alongside him. Fun fact: it's his first collaboration with Netflix.
The film revolves around two scientists (DiCaprio and Lawrence) who discover that a comet is hurtling towards Earth, which will destroy our world. They try to convince the president (Meryl Streep, yes: a female president, love it) of this... But no one really takes them seriously.
Even though DiCaprio and Lawrence both have the lead role, the salary difference is significant: Leo earns a whopping five million more than his female co-star. Still, both are doing quite well, as Jennifer Lawrence still receives 25 million. Since equal pay has been quite a topic in the news lately, she talked about it in an interview with Vanity Fair.
And what turns out: she doesn't care at all that she earns five million less than Leo. She said the following about it: ‘Look, Leo just brings in more money than I do. I am extremely happy and pleased with this deal. But in other situations I have seen, and I am sure other women in my industry have seen it too, it is particularly uncomfortable to talk about equal salaries. And if you question something that is unfair, you are told that it has nothing to do with gender inequality, but they can't really say what it is.’
Okay, clear: normally she totally disagrees, but well... It's Leo. And there are simply different rules for that. Anyway, the entire interview is definitely worth reading, as she is very open and interesting. A few years ago, I had a bit of an overload of her, but I was reminded of how fun she actually is. So read it.
