Juicy: Mike from MAFS season 6 reveals secrets on his Insta

MAFS mike

You probably won't be surprised that I occasionally lurk on the Instagram of Mike Gunner, also known as Mike from season 6 of MAFS Australia, or the nicest guy who has ever participated.  Yes, my crush on him has gotten quite out of hand because I still melt when I see him. But anyway, I was happily browsing his Insta when I saw an AMA (Ask Me Anything) in his Stories. You know something is serious when you see a lot of little dots instead of bars. Yes, I sat down for it; this was going to be enjoyable.

Because of course, there were plenty of questions about his MAFS adventure. And Mike kept it all quite decent — that's just him — but he did share a few things that we as viewers really didn't know.

For example, participant Nic and he are not exactly friendly. Which came as a surprise, because during ‘the experiment’ they were buddies. Not anymore: Mike says he absolutely does not trust Nic. He doesn't want to share all the details, but something definitely happened that has left these two no longer on speaking terms.

And that's not the only person Mike isn't exactly on good terms with. He finds both Martha and Michael hypocritical because they made fun of him behind his back, on TV and on social media. According to Mike, they were constantly ‘trolling’, being annoying and stirring people up, purely for the sensation. Are we surprised by this? Not really, right?

Is Mike then #teamCyrell? Nah, not really. Cyrell and he also can't really see eye to eye. Cyrell allegedly accused Mike of cheating while he was still with Heidi, and that didn't sit well (understandably). ‘Done again,’ he says about that, and he continues with: ‘all the best to her.’

Of course, there was also a question about whether he has had any contact with Heidi since. Especially after the reunion (where he said he would want to kiss her if she walked in while he had a new girlfriend at home) everyone was of course very curious about that. The answer was: no. They haven't spoken in about a year and a half, and Heidi has blocked him. This love dream has truly, irrevocably, shattered.

Moving on to the next: Elizabeth. Is he doing okay with that? Well, that's also not great. He at least thinks that Sam didn't get the best edit (which Sam agrees with), especially when it comes to his ‘fatshaming’. When Elizabeth and he had just gotten married, Sam said that Lizzie was a ‘bigger girl’, bigger than his usual type. All of Australia was outraged at him, then all of America when it aired there, and then all of Europe when it was on TV there.

But, says Mike, Lizzie wasn't exactly innocent either. She allegedly called him ‘chubby’ and ‘chunky’ multiple times, but we didn't see that on TV (even though you do hear her say that when she walks in at the wedding, along the lines of: ‘oh shit, he's a bit chunky’). That's a bit unfair from the producers, especially if it's true.

But then. BUT THEN. The question that is most important to me: how did he and his new girlfriend meet and how come I missed out? Well, that was answered quite quickly and simply: they know each other through the dating app Bumble, and first of all, I don't have that, and second: if I did, my reach probably wouldn't extend to Australia. So. Too bad.
