Katie Holmes and daughter Suri: each other's rescue from Tom Cruise?

Just a flashback to 2012. That was the year Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes got divorced. Yes, everyone is of course busy with the upcoming divorce of Kimye, so I understand that your memory needs a little refreshing. It's quite something, there in Hollywood.

Because that divorce of Tom and Katie, I firmly believe that it was very grim behind the scenes. In recent years, I've read quite a bit about the Church of Scientology and holy shitballs, it's bizarre. And yes, Tom is of course a prominent member of it. The figurehead. Katie supposedly gathered quite a bit of dirty info about his church during the years she was with him, and that couldn't leak out.

It would state that she could never publicly speak about Tom and the Church of Scientology, but also that for a certain number of years she couldn't publicly date anyone else, as that would be embarrassing for Tom. In return, Katie would have established that Suri and Tom could not have contact. She wanted to protect her daughter from the Church of Scientology and since her ex is obsessed with it, she wants to keep him as far away from her as possible.

And yes, the reason they have no contact is still that Church of Scientology. In 2017, it was already said that Tom hadn't spoken to her in three years, so now it's already six years. Close friends of Katie say that she and Suri have ‘saved each other’ and that they are really ‘a team’ together. So it doesn't look like there will be a reconciliation between father and daughter anytime soon, but maybe that's for the best?
