Netflix is coming out with a new delightful romcom Love Hard

Film Love Hard

Finallyyyyy. Another nice romcom is coming to Netflix and it looks genuinely fun. I don't want to celebrate too early, but I see a big chance that I will categorize this under ‘recommended’ and that it won't fall into the category of ‘so-bad-it's-almost-not-fun-anymore’. Because honestly: we've had quite a lot of those in the past year.

But Love Hard looks fun. It stars Nina Dobrev in the lead role, along with Darren Barnet. You might recognize that last name from Never Have I Ever, where he plays a high school student. In this film, he plays his own age, which suits him a bit better too.

These two are a match on a dating app. She, Natalie, lives on the west coast in LA, he lives on the east coast in the woods. She comes up with a brilliant plan: to surprise him during the holidays. For many, this would already be a gigantic red flag, but it's a romcom, so we mainly see the romantic aspect of it. Well, she arrives and sees her worst nightmare come true: that handsome Josh, 30, turns out to be a catfish.

But there is light at the end of the tunnel: the chubby boy, the real Josh, knows the guy from the photos: he is actually a childhood friend. And so he promises that he will still become the matchmaker between Natalie and Tag, the real name of the pretty boy.

Well, of course, it all goes differently. She bends over backwards to be the type that Tag falls for (bobsledding, climbing, outdoor activities), so in that sense, it doesn't have the absolute best message ever, but hopefully, it ultimately comes down to the fact that you get the furthest when you stay true to yourself. Nice cliché, but I think this film is that too.

Check the trailer: it looks pretty tasty, right? Ideal for snuggling up on the couch with a blanket and not thinking too much. Precisely what I need. Just a little longer to wait: it will be online on November 7.
