Nice: Netflix is coming out with a series about Spotify

Yesss, it's been a while since I could tell you about a new Netflix series that is probably really worth watching. Because let's be honest: the selection of new series has been a bit meager lately. But good, that is about to change. And this sounds very interesting: Netflix is coming out with a series about Spotify.

It is a fictional series, but with many elements that actually happened. A bit like The Social Network, but about Spotify instead of Facebook. Moreover, it is a series rather than a movie. But you get the idea. I personally found The Social Network to be a really interesting film (Mark Zuckerberg might have been less happy about it), and I think this will also be a nice watch.

The first season will consist of six episodes, in which we follow tech entrepreneur Daniel Ek (a fictional character) and his partners in the process of realizing a music revolution: one platform where we can listen to all music, with or without ads.

If the rumors are to be believed, the feud between Spotify and Taylor Swift will also be included in the series, but of course with different characters. Taylor Swift decided to remove her music from Spotify because Spotify was taking too much margin from artists. According to her, it simply wouldn't be profitable for artists to be on Spotify, let alone the smaller artists who could really use the money. Meanwhile, the two have come closer together (especially: Spotify has started paying artists better) and T-Swift has been back on the platform for some time now.

We will have to wait a little longer until the series is actually available to watch: it is expected to be in 2022. But I think this will be enjoyable.
