Prince Philip has died at the age of 99

The British royal family has just confirmed it: Prince Philip has died today at the age of 99.
“With great sadness, the queen has announced that her beloved husband, His Royal Highness Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, has passed away,” reads the Twitter message.
On February 17, Prince Philip was already admitted to the hospital, ‘as a precaution’, because he was not feeling well. A month later he left that hospital, but was transferred to another. This was not the first time he was hospitalized due to health issues; in December 2019 he was also admitted, just like in April 2019 and in June 2017.
Since March last year, Queen Elizabeth II and he have been in self-isolation at Windsor Castle — the same castle where Harry and Meghan exchanged their vows.
In January, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip received the coronavirus vaccine. “The royal family mourns together with people worldwide over his passing,” the palace reports. In June he would have turned one hundred years old.
Further details on how and when Prince Philip will be buried have not yet been announced.
