So I watched V House: Inside the Mansion and now I feel like a grandma

Goodmorning folks. In case you have missed it: Videoland has launched a new reality show. A show that revolves entirely around the eight best TikTokers in the Netherlands. You know, that platform that has nearly tripled in the past year to over 1.7 million followers.
You know, that platform of videos, the short competitions, and the dances. That social medium that offers young creators the platform and the chance to profile themselves. I’m going to be very honest with you: I once created a TikTok account. I tried to edit a video to make it a bit cool, but I just felt like such a loser. I didn’t understand all those features.
So, eh, whether a career for me on TikTok is in the cards: mwuah, I don’t know. I had the same experience with Clubhouse (although that seemed really cool to me) and cryptocurrencies. I think it’s more of a kind of FOMO than actual interest. Anyway, the new motto is: where there is resistance, there is growth. And that’s why I checked out the new reality series V House: Inside the Mansion, in which eight young adult TikTok creators are followed as they face the biggest challenge of their still budding social careers: they get the chance to start a Dutch TikTok group account together and make it as successful as possible.
Although they have over 4.5 million (!) followers on their solo accounts, they have to start over for the @vhouse account. The big question, of course, is: will they succeed in combining their creativity and finding the sweet spot in the constantly changing world of social media? Put eight creative crazies in a house and see what happens.
Sure, the world behind the TikTok virals is one full of passion and fun, but also full of uncertainty, disappointment, and conflict. Who are the creators really, who are they outside of their content, and how do they deal with the pressure of a group account and their own account? The reality show shows the offline lives of online creators. I like this idea.
A kind of Holland’s Next Top Model but different. And those people are so young. Meine gute. Anyway, if you have an hour to spare: the first two episodes are now on Videoland. Have fun!
