Temptation Island 2.0: Fboy Island is coming

I saw this on the Instagram account of DeuxMoi for a while, but to be honest, I thought it was a joke. I mean: Fuckboy Island, really? No one is going to seriously name their show that, and besides: who would even participate? It turns out that mega network HBO has picked it up and shortened the title to FBOY Island. So it’s really a thing, and even the trailer is already out.

The concept: three ladies who are looking for love move to a tropical island and are joined there by 24 men. No, that’s not a typo: there are really 24 of them. A small problem is that half of those men are not looking for a relationship at all; they are the fuckboys. The other half is serious, and it’s the women’s task to pick them out.

What a strange concept, or is it just me? I mean: of course I’m going to watch, but this really sounds very weird. Reality TV in 2021, people: fuckboys are getting their own series.

And it’s probably going to get even worse, because I think it’s going to be quite a challenge for those three ladies. Three is really very few, right? This is definitely going to cause a lot of tears, because I dare to bet that at least one of the three will fall in love with such a fuckboy. Or maybe the whole concept is as leaky as a sieve and the fuckboys turn out not to be made of stone and also fall in love? Or am I being too hopeful now?

At least we don’t have to wait long, because the series starts on July 29 on HBO. So just stream it online.
