Just about Amalia's dress

Just about Amalia's dress

Yesterday was the big day when Princess Amalia turned 18. That had to be celebrated. Actually with a starting salary of a messy one and a half million, but Amalia (hats off, hats off) declined that because she felt ‘uncomfortable’ with it. Her modesty and restraint also shine through in her clothing choices. Because what do you wear in a photo that you know will go down in history? It has to be royal, classy, in no way explainable as offensive, not too fashionable (the dad sneaker doesn't seem like a good idea for this occasion) and also not too expensive because then Youp will surely dip his pen in the acid. But too cheap also can't really be an option.

Applause for Amalia and her styling assistants, because the choice was huge. She chose a red robe from Max Mara that is high-necked and falls just above the knee and... And oh how much champagne will be uncorked for a LaDress dress from the Dutch entrepreneur Simone van Trojen. Did you think it was a picture? It's called Naomi and is yours for €259,-.

Once again, hats off for Amalia's jewelry. They are from the fair trade brand SeeMe that helps women who have experienced domestic violence.

Hats off, Amalia, you are doing so well.
