It was a storybook wedding. One that Tatler and Hello will draw from for a long, long time. Lady Kitty Spencer married, the niece of Diana and the daughter of Charles Spencer.


A bit about Kitty
She is the daughter of Charles Spencer and a direct niece of Diana. Read here nine things you probably didn't know about Lady Di. 

She is a model and is signed with Storm Models and is the spokesperson for Bvlgari and Dolce & Gabbana. That explains the parade of ‘alta moda’ pearls that Kitty wore during the ceremonies, all of which, couture after all, were made especially for her.


Who is she marrying?
To Michael Lewis, a South African businessman (worth nine zeros in his savings account) who moved to London long ago, got married there, and had three children. He is 62. That too.


Where did they get married?
In Rome, the city of love. Now many roads lead to Rome, but the one from Althorp to Rome was apparently closed because Charles Spencer, Kitty's father, was absent. He did post a photo on Instagram of his estate on Friday, so no warm feelings were really sent to Rome.

Where did the guests sleep?
At Hotel de Ville at the Spanish Steps. On their bed awaited a wicker bag embroidered with the word ‘baci’ and filled with all luxury gifts. The ceremony itself was at Villa Aldobrandini.

The details, the luxury, everything
The napkins were embroidered with the initials of the happy couple. Kitty had a range of couture ready, with the masterpiece being the Victorian high-neck wedding dress from Dolce & Gabbana’s Alta Moda division.

Who was there?
Well, Elon Musk's mother for example, for whom I immediately want to start a fan club because the epitome of cool, as the English say. Idris Elba and his wife, Pixie Lott, and many, many others, like her brothers who escorted her down the aisle.

Notably
Is that her father was not present at the wedding. And that he doesn't necessarily send warm thoughts to his daughter and her husband can be cautiously inferred from his Instagram policy. No congratulations or a nice photo of the bride, but a snapshot of Althorp from the day before the wedding.

By the way, this father Charles once pointed fingers at Prince Charles for the deceit towards Diana, but he himself also had an affair with a journalist during his marriage to Kitty's mother, which led to eating disorders and drug and alcohol abuse of his wife. The mother of this Kitty, that is.

Anyway, it's just a matter of weeks before we know more. Let the English sleuths loose on that. I wish the lovebirds a beautiful, couture-covered wedding in any case.
