Molli knit, €95,- Molli
When my Flootje was born (in November and it was kkkcold that winter), my standard baby gear included a hot water bottle. Or better said: two hot water bottles. Babies can't keep themselves warm yet, so that's why the maternity nurse advised hot water bottles. They were old-fashioned aluminum bottles that I bought at Hema, and I looked for the cutest and softest bottle cover to go around them. First, I rolled it for about four minutes to make sure no drop came out of the bottle, and then I sandwiched my baby between two warm bottles. Cap down so that if it did leak, the water wouldn't quickly get on my child. Anyway.
I still have a thing for hot water bottles because they are the ultimate comfort material. A warm bag on your belly or under your feet while you read a book or binge-watch your favorite series just has something. Moreover, it's friendlier for the environment than turning up your heating by a degree. Just celebrate winter, wear thick socks, put a hot water bottle on your belly, and you're done. Because I don't find every hot water bottle equally beautiful, I melted at the sight of this one from Molli. If it makes you melt just by looking at it, you know you've got the right bottle.
