Recently, I already recommended a nice podcast for true crime enthusiasts, the Down The Hill podcast about the murder of teenagers Libby and Abby. One of my personal favorites, but: it's in English. And I can imagine that not everyone is always waiting for that. That's why I'm recommending one of my favorites again today. In Dutch this time.
And there is also a book by: Laura H. Otherwise known as the ‘Syria girl’, who went to the Caliphate with her boyfriend. If you haven't read the book yet, it's definitely a recommendation. I also found the photos in it very impressive, showing how much the city in Iraq where she stays (Mosul) has changed in recent years. And her experiences there… A really far-from-my-bed show, but I read it in one go.
That she is now safely back in the Netherlands is also well known. She was ultimately convicted by the court for supporting a terrorist organization, but she has been rebuilding her life in the Netherlands for years now.
The podcast is about her experiences in Syria, basically what the book describes as well. But honestly, I didn't find it unnecessary information. I had read the book first, then I listened to the podcast, and I also listened to the podcast in one go. Recommendation.
