
Every time I think I've found my favorite scent, I discover something new. Really, how is that possible? Now I have it again with the new perfume from Diptyque: Orphéon. A fragrance with cedar, tonka beans, juniper berries, and jasmine. Completely my ingredients. The name comes from an old evening bar in Paris where the founders liked to gather to discuss their ideas. It was adjacent to their own boutique in the Saint-Germain district and it was always lively, welcoming, and warm there. That bar no longer exists, as it has become part of their boutique, but you can still recognize it from the inside by the faceted blue column. Sixty years later, it still stands there and they have captured the warm atmosphere of burning wood, the aroma of gin tonics, and clouds of tobacco smoke in a perfume. In one word: delightful. And I haven't even mentioned the beautiful packaging of the bottle. Just check out the video:
