Almost twenty years ago, I worked with Asjha van den Akker. When you work with Asjha, the sun shines every day and you have at least three hearty laughs a day. Or a little pee in your pants. Because Asjha is the combination of ‘everything will be fine’ and a lot of fun.

Asjha still works in television, but has two more hobbies: France and her husband Ed. The last two go well together, as Ed also loves France and good food and drink. Because one thing leads to another and blood runs where it cannot go, Asjha started writing. About France, of course. Et voilà! is a delightful book that every France-loving person should have on their shelf.

These are the addresses of Asjha in Paris.

After Et voilà! there is now Mais oui!, where we read both those delightful, recognizable, touching, and inspiring stories from Asjha and receive Ed's recipes as a bonus.

It's a gift. Definitely for Father's Day. And for everyone going on vacation to France. Or for all the unfortunate ones who are not going. Well, for everyone then. And to Asjha, may I make a suggestion for the title of your next book? Pourquoi pas?
