Videoland tip of the day: Follow the STI

Let’s talk about sex, baby. Videoland has actually launched the entire first season of the series Follow the SOA online and I can tell you: it’s fun. I came across it on NRC where it received four stars. Not even via Videoland itself. Step up your game guys, this series deserves a bit more promo.

Follow the SOA tells the story of Esmée, who has a form of autism and is still a virgin. At the moment supreme when she loses her virginity, she gets an extra souvenir: chlamydia. Best arelaxt.

But this souvenir does make her go on a quest to find out what sex really is and what love really is. And that leads to hilarious situations, because Esmée is such an endearing and sincere girl. So well played by Damaris de Jong.

Yeah, the comparison with Sex Education is of course quickly made, and logically so. But even if they did copy from it, does it matter? Better well stolen than poorly invented, and since I've been waiting an eternity for that new season of Sex Education, this comes to me personally as a calling.

Furthermore, Follow the SOA remains pleasantly light-hearted everywhere. No horror stories, no tear-jerkers, just a nice feel-good series. And did I mention that the entire first season is online? Exactly. Bingewatching it is.
