Virgin River is coming with a fourth and a fifth season

That's some nice news on a Tuesday morning. Not a new season, but hatsekiedee, immediately two new series on the roll. The creators of Grace and Frankie could learn something from this, who are wrapping up a new season with a meager four (or was it five?) episodes. That's not an inhumane idea.

The series, which is based on the book series by Robyn Carr (of which 13 million have been sold, by the way), tells the story of Melinda who starts working as a nurse and midwife in a tiny town and hopes to leave the pain of her past behind. That she doesn't succeed will not surprise you.

Did you know that:

  • Virgin River doesn't exist but is a fictional place?
  • It was filmed in Canada and finally not in LA?
  • Jack’s Bar doesn't really exist, but the exterior was filmed at The Watershed Grill in British Columbia’s Brackendale. If you go there to eat, you have the same beautiful views as in the series.
  • Mel's cabin was actually a little hut of one of the ‘caretakers’ of the nature parks there? Because they used it so often, they completely rebuilt it for TV purposes.
  • In the books, there was much earlier horizontal activity between Mel and Jack than in the series? They wanted to build up the tension nicely.

When the new seasons will be available is not yet known, but it will probably be 2022.
