Why Nine Perfect Strangers is a global series

Do you know that hole you fall into when your current series is over? I had it after Downton Abbey, after The Bodyguard, every time after Grace and Frankie and now after The Undoing. What do you do then? Talk to people who are in the same boat and ask if they know something to fill the void. After all, they know your taste. I heard about Nine Perfect Strangers from multiple sources, available on Amazon.com and you already had a subscription because you were of course watching The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

I'm now on episode 3 and yes, I've got a new addiction again. A summary of why Nine Perfect Strangers is your new series.

1. It is produced by Nicole Kidman
And she also waved her magic wand at Big Little Lies and The Undoing. There is no better quality guarantee at this point, if you ask me.

2. The author of the book Nine Perfect Strangers is the same as that of Big Little Lies
Liane Moriarty apparently knows what intrigues us.

3. That first scene with Nicole Kidman
In short: Masha is a Russian woman who runs an extremely expensive and unique resort where you will literally come out reborn. In Nine Perfect Strangers we see nine completely different people entering the resort, all curious and a bit anxious about their meeting with Masha. The specific scene in which they see Masha for the first time was also the first moment the cast met Nicole Kidman. Completely ‘in character’, as they say, and therefore immediately so incredibly well done.

4. The series was filmed in Australia
So beautiful nature. The story actually takes place in California, but due to Covid it was decided to shoot in Australia.

5. Some scenes are so intense that the actors spoke with counselors beforehand to get through the scene well.

6. The director himself is particularly proud of episodes 7 and 8, so I'm going to binge-watch tonight.
