Why you want to watch Temptation Island USA now

Look, that our Temptation Island simply cannot compare to the American version, we already knew that. And I also have the impression that the makers of the Dutch version agree with that by now, hence the change in the program. It would start to resemble the American variant more: couples who are not participating for Instagram fame, but because they really want to know if their love is strong enough, and singles who are not out to ruin relationships, but who want to find love.

The only problem is a bit... That not much has actually changed in the Dutch version. And so I watch it faithfully (I'm not the hardest to please), but I have also faithfully watched the USA version on Videoland and that is really a lot more fun. Another plus: it is available on Videoland and the season is almost over so you can probably binge everything at once. LOVE IT.

Of course there are also couples here again that make you think: why on earth are you still together? I won't spoil too much, but literally within the first two days the bed is already being shared, and the one who puts their relationship at risk sees nothing wrong with it. How is that? ‘As long as I'm here, I'm just single and that's how I'm going to behave.’ Okay, that's clear. And then get furious when your partner decides to do the same.

In terms of drama, there is really enough going on, but I find the couples themselves (and the singles too, actually just everyone) so much more sympathetic than in ‘our’ version. With a few of those girls, I'm almost cheering in front of the TV because I really hope they cheat. The single gentlemen (nice that they are no longer called ‘seducers’) are also not pumped-up steroid types, but mostly men who like to talk about their feelings and fall in love quite quickly.

Well, it's just really delightful TV. In fact, I'm seriously considering just staying in for the entire King's Day and binge-watching the previous season. Because yes, that's also on Videoland. Addictive.
