Wow: WhatsApp has changed a setting that you want to change back now

Very nice and kind, dear friends of WhatsApp, but we really need to talk about this. I’m not feeling this. And I’m talking about that adjustment you made where it can now be added in group chats on all our phones has been changed to ‘everyone’. Which means, yes, strangers can now unsolicited add you to groups.
Since when do we no longer discuss these kinds of things? Oh, wait a minute, we never did that, did we? We are the users and we don’t read the fine print. We are programmed to sit on that cozy little screen as much as possible, and for as long as possible too. I must say: I get it. You’re just doing your job. But still, a note: stop it. I’m allergic to group apps, let alone being able to be added by all unknown people by default.
Additionally: it’s also immediately a setting that scammers can eagerly take advantage of by sending cheerful phishing messages. No thanks. Fortunately, you can undo all of this in a mere thirty seconds and here’s how:
– Open WhatsApp
– Go to Settings
– Choose Account
– Choose Privacy
– Choose Groups
– Select ‘Contacts’ instead of ‘Everyone’
– Now only your contacts can add you, yay.
PS. Don’t like groups either? Prefer to be a lone wolf than a group tiger? Hey, it’s okay. You’re not alone. Just read this.
