Yesss, Netflix is putting the seasons of New Amsterdam online

YES, I have a really nice new tip for you, namely a series that will soon be available on Netflix. Especially if you are a fan of Grey’s Anatomy or if you have already watched the first two seasons on Videoland. Yes, it was already available there. I'm of course talking about New Amsterdam, the series that I binged in 2019. After that, it went quiet. Until now: Netflix has announced that they will be putting multiple seasons online. That's right: plural. So we can get back to it.

Just a refresher course: the hospital series is based on the book “Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellevue Hospital.” Writer Eric Manheimer was himself the director of a public hospital for 13 years — so you could say he knows the necessary ins and outs. Juicyyy.

The series New Amsterdam is about Dr. Max Goodwin, the new medical director of one of the oldest public hospitals in America, the New Amsterdam Medical Center. And this Dr. Max is wonderfully idealistic and full of good intentions that he can really bring about change in his hospital. Spoiler: that’s not going to be easy at all.

Why you want to watch? I personally find it such a nice binge-watch, really a bit like Grey’s Anatomy — before they came into the umpteenth season and the spark was a bit gone. It’s wonderfully addictive and that Dr. Max is quite charming, that always helps of course.

Just a little more patience, but not much longer: on February 15, the seasons will be online. And that third season is also on its way. Great for your post-Valentine's dip, that Dr. Max will definitely help you through it.
