Whut: a return flight to Mexico for €299

fly to Mexico

When the country was still locked down and vacation — let alone to faraway places — was something we could only dream of, I often looked at vacation sites. Out of curiosity about which flights were available, to get inspiration for when we could fly again, and just to daydream. A hobby that I have kept after the lockdowns, because I enjoyed it.

And I've actually had that hobby for a while, you know: when I go on vacation, I've been making it a sport for years to find the cheapest flight. For example, in 2017 I flew to Bali for 370 euros (return) with a one-day layover in Taipei. I love a long layover, especially if it's in a city I've never been to and where I wouldn't normally go. Just before corona, I also had a great deal: a return flight to New York for 211 euros, including luggage and no layover. It really felt like winning the lottery.

But hey, sharing is caring, they say, so I didn't want to keep this find from you: €299 to Mexico. WHUT? Okay, with a layover, but that's in Lisbon, so you just get a nice day in Portugal for free. There are various dates available, from tomorrow until October. So plenty of choice. I'm seriously considering just booking for the summer or fall. You're a bit of a thief of your own wallet if you don't do it, right?

Check the deal here. The flights are with Tap Air Portugal and that is the national airline of Portugal; very reliable. With my fear of flying, I sometimes get a bit anxious when spotting these kinds of cheap tickets. But hey, no hidden catches, except that you have to book your large luggage extra. That should be fine, right? I say: let's all fly to Mexicoooooo.
