De Bijenkorf goes viral due to their remarkable Christmas package

Working at Bijenkorf is not always a party, as we found out thanks to TikTok. It was already in the news that employees laid down their work this month to fight for better working conditions. But well, they had some time to regroup and to show their appreciation for the employees, right? And then Christmas might just be the perfect moment to pamper everyone working at Bijenkorf with a nice Christmas package.

Well, you would think so. But unfortunately, it turned out a bit differently. Because what turns out: the Bijenkorf is not really a hero in Christmas packages. TikToker Charlena shows, for example, last year's Christmas package: a bee. That’s it. But hey, you can still bend its little legs. Super fun.

This year they have outdone themselves. It is — drumroll please — a Christmas ball. And not just any Christmas ball, no, a Christmas ball that every customer receives for free with a purchase of 250 euros or more.

Bijenkorf has since, kind of, responded: all internal employees will receive an additional 50 euros in shopping credit as a token of appreciation.
