The 11 cosiest restaurants in Amsterdam, even on rainy days

Don't get me wrong, I love summer, nice weather and going out on the terrace. In fact, I'd rather do that every day that I can. However, days like this often lead to bottles of wine being ordered, but not dinner, and then I'm left with another liquid dinner, which is why I always crave the evenings inside. For instance, quite a few of my favourite restaurants don't really have a large terrace, and with such nice weather, you actually want to sit outside.
That is why I hereby present to you: eleven restaurants you will want to go to when it is cold, raining or even thundering. After all, here you can always have a good time inside.
1. NENI Amsterdam
When I'm with a larger group, I always suggest this spot first. The food is méga delicious and the bigger the group, the more you can sample from the shared dining menu. Don't skip the cocktails either, because I really like those here too. Oh, and big plus: my favourite wine, Grüner Veltliner, is served by the glass.
Stadionplein 8
2. Wijmpje Beukers
A favourite of mine for years and I can't wait to go back every time. The menu changes regularly, so at least you won't get bored with that. What you also won't get bored of is the too-cute and super-attentive service. The evening invariably ends with an Espresso Martini here; they are divine.
Karel du Jardinstraat 47
3. Window 33
For those lovely evenings that start with an impromptu drink and end with dinner and a late arrival home... This is the place to be. Because the drinks are top notch (the Moscow Mule here is the absolute best), the drinks menu ditto and so is the food. Fine: something for everyone; for example, I can really enjoy their burger, but their vegan ravioli is also highly recommended.
Eerste Van der Helststraat 42
4. Gertrude
I hóu so love this interior here. Really so cosy and ideal for those autumn and winter months. By the way, I love the wine list here at least as much - and the food, of course. If you fancy a really good night out, this is the place you want to go.
Bosboom Toussaintstraat 28
5. Café de Klepel
Should you want to eat here in the coming months (and you will), make your reservations now. The place is always packed far in advance, but that is understandable: it is a very cosy and cosy place inside, but not big. Besides, the food is really very good (especially get advice on the wine!), so make sure you have room for all courses, otherwise you will regret it.
Prinsenstraat 22
6. Toscanini
Well, a little Italy lover must have been here at least once. If you love gourmet dining, then this one should also be on your bucket list. The times I eat out here I make sure I've barely had lunch, because the portions here are wonderfully generous, and I always order too much of this menu.
Lindengracht 75
7. MOS
For several years now, my brother, my parents and I have been going here for an evening meal, and my parents look forward to it every year. My brother and I also sometimes go on the sly without them, when we have something to celebrate, for example. I can honestly say: I've eaten at few places as good as here. I am allergic to fish and shellfish, and often (even at the more luxurious restaurants) you get a pathetic alternative dish. Well, not here. Really every course was a feast (also for fish-eaters, by the way) and so was the accompanying wine menu. And that choice to do the extra cheese platter wasn't wrong either. Rolling home every time.
IJdock 185
8. Bar Bonnie
For a cosy Friday night with a good but quick bite and lots of drinks; that's exactly what my last night here looked like, when it was pouring down from the sky. I then went for the burger on the recommendation of Snackspert and it is nít normal. Really, if you are a burger lover, you must try this one.
Amstelveenseweg 226H
9. Ceppis
Truly a top addition to this street, which used to be a tad touristy anyway. Not anymore, now you eat Italian food here and end up with scroppinos or Espresso Martinis and, no matter what day it is, it is always méga cosy. This year I celebrated my birthday here and it was a really good choice, but even if you're a couple (or a smaller group) this is highly recommended.
Lijnbaansgracht 256
10. Morgan & Mees
I like this spot so much that I recently went there to eat twice in one week and I am not even ashamed of it. Not even for the fact that I ordered the roasted ribs both times. Nope, those are just too good. As is the crispy cauliflower, for that matter. Both times I also started with the Purple Sage Martini. Well, never change a winning team, right?
Second Hugo de Grootstraat 2-6
11. nNea
Well, a list of hotspots without a place to eat really good pizza is impossible. That's why nNea definitely belongs in this list, because those pizzas are almost unrivalled. I am going to spend a lot of time here this autumn and winter. And if you are a pizza lover and have never eaten here before: shame on you. Going soon.
Bilderdijkstraat 92
