Let's get acquainted: these are the new couples of MAFS Australia

Just one more week and then we can finally get started. Well, in our case, we have to count one more day, because next Monday the new season of MAFS Australia premieres. In Australia, indeed, so that means we probably have to wait an extra day before we can stream it online. By the way, if you want a handy link by then, just send me a message on Instagram. I will of course share it with love because seriously: I am so EXCITED about this.
Recently, a few more trailers have been released, but now we finally have a look at the couples. Time to get acquainted, then. At first glance, I must honestly admit that I find many of the women look quite alike. They are all not shy about a bit of botox and a filler here and there — which is totally fine — but because of that, I find it hard to distinguish many of them. The men, on the other hand, are very different and the reactions are unanimously in agreement: this is going to be one big drama.
But now, of course, the big question: who are we dealing with? Let's start with the brides.

First up is Domenica (Dom), 28 years old, who works as a makeup artist. She describes herself as someone who stands up for what she believes in and someone who protects her loved ones. ‘You don't want her against you,’ it also says. She has been married before — for two months.
Is this drama: YES.

Next is Ella, 27, and she is a beautician. She finds it important that there is a sexual connection and wants a partner who is also a best friend. She is very loyal and faithful herself.
Is this drama: nah, medium.

Then we move on to Holly, 36 years old, and she is a manager at a cinema. She really wants to meet the love of her life so she can start having children — the reason her previous relationship fell apart was that he didn't want that.
Is this drama: bet the producers matched her with someone who doesn't want kids? YES, indeed.

Next up is Olivia, 27 years old, and she is a teaching assistant. When she was 22, she lost 50 kilos (wow), and dating was on hold for a while because she took care of her terminally ill father. On Saturdays, she doesn't go out but watches movies at home while knitting.
Is this drama: nah, but I think there will be a lot of tears.

Then we have Samantha, 26 years old, and she is a manager at a clothing line. She describes herself as strong and independent and passionate about her career. Her previous relationship lasted seven years and ended because he cheated — she is still struggling with that and now finds it hard to trust men.
Is this drama: Helllll to the yes.

Selin is the next bride, 32 years old, and she is an assistant. She is a single mother with a son who is almost three — her wedding day on MAFS will be her first date in three years. She is of Turkish descent and is very close to her family.
Is this drama: hmm, still uncertain.
Selina (handy, a Selin and Selina in one season) is 32 and is a hairdresser. Her background is Cambodian and Chinese, and she says she is the black sheep of the family because she didn't become a doctor or lawyer. Her parents would prefer her to be with an older, richer Asian guy, by the way.
Is this drama: YAAAA.

Then the last of the brides: Tamara, 29 and an operational manager. She considers herself to have an alpha personality, she is confident and outspoken, and will tell everyone exactly where they stand and what she thinks of them.
Is this drama: this will be The Queen of all drama.
On to the grooms? Yesssss please.

First up is Al, 25 years old and a carpenter. He is sweet and a bit cheeky, and has never been in a relationship. He still lives with his mother, who also cooks for him, cleans, and does his laundry. Uhhh, okay.
Is this drama: absolutely.

Andrew is 39, and is a motivational speaker and personal trainer. He loves helping others, has been married twice before, and has a daughter who is two.
Is this drama: I don't think so, this is too much of a cuddly bear.

Anthony, 38 years old, works in sales and is a professional wrestler (you don't hear that often). He is 1.93m tall and has only fallen for the wrong women in the past. The most important woman in his life is his nine-year-old daughter.
Is this drama: no, but I think his match will definitely stir up some drama.

Moving on to Brent, 33 years old and a manager in the hospitality industry. He lived in Dubai for seven years but was forced to return due to corona — his once-thriving business took a significant hit. Now back in Australia, he is determined to find his great love.
Is this drama: for sure, brace yourself for a lot of ‘but in Dubai…’

Then we have Cody, 30 years old, who is a swim coach and personal trainer. He describes himself as ‘easy-going’. He feels uncomfortable expressing affection, and even holding hands is very difficult for him.
Is this drama: not wanting to hold hands will definitely be an issue, yes.

Jack is 26 and works in finance, he is charismatic and gets along with everyone. He calls himself a ‘hipster at heart’ and is looking for a woman who also has a passion for music and adventure.
Is this drama: I guess a bit of a dreamer, he won't be easily swayed into a lot of shouting.

Jackson, 30 years old, plumber: he describes himself as a clown but can also be sensitive and is very protective.
Is this drama: his description is really the most vague of the whole cast. So I guess not.

Last but certainly not least we have Mitch, a financial planner and part-time model. He has never lasted more than two evenings with the same girl. He finds it difficult that many girls see him as someone who only parties, while he is actually an introvert.
Is this drama: Yaaaaaaaaa.
‘I’m ready for this monstrosity,’ is read in the comments on Instagram. Well, I am ready too. And of course; let the drama come. But I would still like it if there was one couple like Jules and Cam. Pretty please? Then we can at least still believe in love.
