In love with my iPhone videos

In these days where we seem to dive from disappointment into scandal, I sometimes need a little happiness. That it just stops raining when you want to get on your bike. That your colleague puts a perfect latte macchiato on your desk when you hit ‘send’ on a piece you’ve worked on for three hours. Those free and found moments of happiness.
My phone gives me that too. In the past, I would receive a cozy, handmade year overview from my phone (which I was actually happy with, really) or an overview of all the photos with my father, for example, but now a dedicated employee has focused on a more creative interpretation of your photo gallery. So suddenly I get videos with themes like ‘golden hour’, ‘best friends’, ‘enjoy your meal’, ‘Paris’, or the wonderful yet oh so cozy thematic umbrella ‘eating with Lilian’. They are all surprising, bring me back to times and places I had almost forgotten, draw a smile on my face, or let a tear roll down.
And the fun part is? I can’t think of what the hidden, commercial thought behind this weekly treat is. My phone gives it to me without expecting anything in return. And isn’t that exactly the essence of being truly kind?
