Yes, this was of course a matter of time. Instagram closely monitors all trends, or rather: steals all good ideas from other apps. Because if we are very honest, Instagram itself actually no longer comes up with good ideas. The only initiative that really came from them was changing everyone's timeline, which now fills my entire feed with reels from people I don't know. Blood irritating. And those reels? Yes, they can be quite fun, but they just stole them from TikTok. And with all the crazy filters we've been using for years, Snapchat had actually started much earlier.

It was therefore to be expected that when an app like BeReal becomes popular, Instagram would also come up with a new feature. In this case, it is the ‘IG Candid Challenges’ that you can participate in. You get a notification at a random time every day, and then you have two minutes to make and share this. Well, what a ~groundbreaking, innovative idea~.

Yep, it is really exactly BeReal. For now, not all users can see the IG Candid Challenges, as it is still an internal prototype that has not yet been rolled out externally. We do know what it will look like, as it was leaked on Twitter.

Well, with the huge number of users on Instagram, this will probably be a massive hit. But still... If you are such a big company, you would expect them to come up with something new themselves, right? By the way, BeReal has not yet responded to the news, but I guess they won't be very happy.
