Jennifer Aniston open about IVF for first time

Jennifer Aniston on IVF

She is perhaps the celebrity who has been asked the most about when she wanted children, or if she even wanted children, and with whom and when, and whether she regretted that it didn't happen. All completely inappropriate questions, I think (her uterus, so her business), but she managed to respond very politely every time. Of course, I'm talking about Jennifer Aniston. She is now 53 — and still looks bizarrely good — and this topic is still not closed. That's why she gave an open interview to Allure Magazine for the first time about her struggles with this.

She shares that she went through ‘a lot of tough shit’ when she was in her late 30s and early 40s. Her secret? Always staying positive in the end. And that wasn't always easy.

‘I tried to get pregnant. That was a challenging path for me, that baby-making path. Those years and years of people speculating about it were very heavy. I was in the middle of an IVF process, drinking Chinese tea, everything you can think of. I tried everything. I would give anything now if someone had told me earlier: ‘Freeze your eggs, do yourself a favor.’ You just don't think about that. And that's how it has come to be. The ship has sailed.’

She also shares that at the time, no one knew she was going through IVF; no one knew she wanted to do this alone, for herself. Yet she says she has no regrets, she even says she is now a bit relieved, ‘because there is no possibility anymore. Could it happen? Maybe...? I don't have to think about that anymore.’

Furthermore, she tells Allure that the time of her divorce from Brad Pitt was also quite tough, especially because of what the media wrote, such as that he left her because she ‘didn't want to give him a child’. Nothing of that is true, says Jennifer.
