Tip: how to remove Lil Kleine from your Spotify account

You probably haven't missed that Lil Kleine is currently in a cell in Amsterdam. The reason: a video that Yvonne Coldeweijer posted on her Instagram Stories. In it, Lil Kleine was seen dragging his girlfriend Jaimie Vaes out of the car and pinning her head between the door. As everyone now knows, this is not the first incident where Lil Kleine couldn't keep his hands to himself: last May in Ibiza, things also went wrong, after which he spent a night in a cell on the Spanish island.
What happened next? Lil Kleine is making an album about this incident, which at the time of writing is number one on Spotify, and other songs are also in the top 50 of Spotify. His album is called Ibiza Stories, and in that title song, for example, the following lyrics come by: ‘You were the woman of my dreams, now a chick that complains / I promise I will always look at that little one / I took you seriously babe, not just a pastime / It feels like I'm being fired here in my company.’ Many other songs on the album also talk about that night when everything went wrong.
Today, I read many messages on the internet and Instagram directed at Jaimie, stating that she should leave Lil Kleine and that if she stays, she is not a mother to Lío but a whore. And of course, my first reaction is: come on, you can't put up with this, leave that loser, but unfortunately, it's just not that simple. I personally do not stand behind this form of victim blaming (‘you are a whore, not a mother if you stay’), because you never know what happens behind closed doors, how manipulative someone can be, and how scared the victim is to leave.
So we cannot judge Jaimie. Just like all of the Netherlands, I hope she is strong enough to leave, that she is now surrounded by people who love her and care for her, and that she finds the strength to banish Lil Kleine from her life.
Koen Kardashian posted the following message on his Stories, and it really touched me: seeing someone struggle with this up close seems so difficult, you want the best for someone but don’t know how. And what if that person doesn’t see it themselves and doesn’t dare to choose for themselves? At the same time, this text also gives hope; hopefully, this nightmare is indeed really over for her now.

But there is also something we as outsiders can do. Because I do not want to support an artist like Lil Kleine in any way, and I hope you feel the same. So what can you do? Open your Spotify app, search for Lil Kleine as an artist, and click on the three dots next to the ‘follow’ button (of course, do not click on that). Then you will see the following option: ‘Don’t play this artist again’. And there you go, done. Never again accidentally playing a song by Lil Kleine, and this way you also do not support this behavior. Spotify is of course also a significant source of income, and I certainly do not wish that for this guy. Some people might find it an exaggerated statement from me, but as far as I'm concerned, these types can whistle for their careers. And as long as we keep listening to his music, that won't happen.
