Love it: Nike is going to collaborate with Louis Vuitton

The hope of ever being able to buy a house in Amsterdam on my own is fading more and more into the background (thanks to the messed-up housing market), but maybe I will just take out a mortgage. I really want the latest Nike Air Force 1 and you might not expect it, but I need a little over a hundred grand for that. This is a very exclusive edition, in collaboration with none other than Louis Vuitton. Nice: the proceeds from these shoes go to a good cause. Less nice: the average price is around 100,000 dollars.

Currently, these beautiful specimens can be seen in New York, as part of the exhibition at the Green Point Terminal Warehouse. There are only 47 editions of these Nike Air Force 1, designed by Virgil Abloh, the designer who recently passed away far too soon.

After this performance, the copies will be auctioned, and that will be done by the auction house Sotheby’s. So I need to arrange that mortgage quickly, because there are only two hundred copies and I really think they are amazing. But if you happen to have a hundred grand or more lying around, then by purchasing these shoes you are also supporting a good cause: all proceeds will be donated to students of Black Promise, so they can pursue further education. Look, that’s a really good excuse to go shopping.
