Take the Jordaan and open an eastern Mediterranean restaurant there and you have me. At the beginning of March, Mesiba opened its doors and this place is exactly what the word ‘mesiba’ means: one big party. The partners in crime behind the restaurant are Eyal and Sam (the guy from the Gym Republic who once got me back into working out). The entrepreneurs missed a place where the delicious long dining spills into an evening that you talk about for the whole week (or a year). It’s dining out like in Tel Aviv, but then in Amsterdam. And just a little about that food, because what do you think of spicy beef tartare with labneh or cod kebab served on a pancake? Good lord, that sounds divine. I suspect that after eating at Mesiba, I’ll have to head straight to the gym, but luckily that part is also covered.
