Could New York Fashion Week have been even more fun?
Madonna and the plate of fries, Linda Evangelista back on the catwalk and Lisa Rinna on the runway

The kickoff of all fashion weeks always begins in New York. In terms of fashion level, it may not be as daring as its Milanese and Parisian sisters, but in terms of spectacle and celebrity density, New York towers above the rest like a skyscraper. Here’s a selection of everything you would have wanted to be a part of.
1. Madonna
Madonna seems to be crawling out of her secluded shell more and more. She made a grand entrance at the Marni show, which had surprisingly swapped Milan for a venue in New York. In Dumbo Brooklyn, she was with top models and friends of the designer (like Lara Stone) who showcased his collection, accompanied by the Brooklyn Orchestra. On another day, Madonna attended the afterparty of LaQuan Smith, where she happily sat behind a plate of fries.

2. Kim Kardashian side by side with Sarah Jessica Parker
Another Italian highlight was the celebration of the Fendi baguette (the rectangular bag that bears some resemblance to a baguette) which has been around for 25 years. It had to be celebrated grandly, and since things that last longer should be cherished, the top models of yesteryear were invited. Amber Valetta, Christy Turlington, Kate Moss, and, very notably, Linda Evangelista stepped back onto the catwalk especially for Fendi. Notable because she had recently become a victim of a botched cosmetic procedure that robbed her of her beauty. What can I say? She looked fantastic and hats off to her courage.

3. Mother-daughter models
Heidi and Leni Klum, Kate and Lottie Moss, Lisa Rinna and Amelia Hamlin; it was a va et vient of famous mothers with their blossoming daughters.

4. Vogue World
I also thought for a moment: what is Vogue World? Well, that is the most greedy dream that Anna Wintour ever had and that had to become a reality. On a street in the Meatpacking District, the coolest editor’s pick of the fall/winter collection was showcased. Immediately available for shopping, which is also nice sometimes. The show was opened by a group of runners adorned with flags from all the countries of the world around their necks, dedicating the runway. The opening of the show was Serena Williams in beautiful Balenciaga. There were more models, there was Brooklyn Beckham cuddling with his Nicola Peltz and oh, how I would have loved to be here: there was Mikhail Baryshnikov (the dancer who plays Aleksandr Petrovsky in Sex and the City) dancing down the runway.

Then the song ‘Vogue’ was started and it rained top models. Helena Christensen, Amber Valetta, Lila Grace, Lara Stone, Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid…

And as the cherry on top, there was a Katz’s Deli truck from Michael Kors where you could grab a pastrami sandwich and Burberry served tea and sandwiches. Isn’t it all wonderful?
5. Felice Nova
I can't end this piece without writing something about our superstar Felice Nova. She closed Altuzarra, was the star of Proenza Schouler, Tom Ford, Michael Kors, Tory Burch, Gabriela Hearst, Vogue World, Khaite, and Jason Wu.

Many British brands canceled their shows due to the passing of Queen Elizabeth, so it’s a good thing that New York granted us such an abundance to bask in.
