Creator of Emily In Paris comes with new romcom series on Netflix

Netflix film romantic Uncoupled

Ooh, this could be really fun. The creator of Emily In Paris (Darren Star) is coming out with a new series this summer and I'm already excited about it. Add to that that it will take place in the absolute best location ever (New York City) and it can't really go wrong. Well, for Netflix it probably can. The lead role will be played by Neil Patrick Harris, whom we all know as Barney from How I Met Your Mother, and he has been quite negative in the news lately due to a special cake he ordered during a Halloween party.

So the timing isn't exactly ideal, although the actor did publicly apologize for it this week (I personally think it's a case of ‘you're only sorry you got caught’, because this happened in 2011 and he saw nothing wrong with it back then). But let's be honest: as Barney he was amazing, so we can expect quite a bit from this series.

The series is called Uncoupled and revolves around Michael (Neil Patrick Harris), who is left by his husband after seventeen years. To say he didn't see that coming would be an understatement, and the fact that he (at his age) has to look for love again as a single gay man in New York City weighs heavily on him.

Darren Star is collaborating with Jeffrey Richman for Uncoupled. That name might not ring a bell, but he has won multiple Emmys for his series Modern Family and Frasier. You probably know the first one, the second is my personal favorite series of all time. Seriously, go watch this series. Because of that, I have high expectations for Uncoupled. If the script, the atmosphere, and the acting are even a little close to Frasier, this is going to be a hit.

Now we wait for July 29, because that's when it will be on Netflix. Unfortunately, there isn't an extensive trailer yet, so for now we have to make do with this teaser.
