Ouch: painful Photoshop fail in new Skims campaign
I find it very annoying that we still don't have a Skims retail point in the Netherlands, because I am really so curious about these products. And you can say what you want about Kim Kardashian, but generally Skims users are enthusiastic about it. Now it all looks very beautiful and polished. Case in point: the latest campaign featuring Alessandra Ambrosio, Heidi Klum, Candice Swanepoel, and Tyra Banks.
Now we know that the Kardashians are not shy in their private lives about a bit of Photoshop, but apparently they also apply that policy in their business life. The Instagram account @problematicfame shared various Stories with screenshots and a video from the latest Skims shoot, and it is clearly visible that Tyra Banks' body has been significantly altered.
Better said: there is simply a chunk missing from her waist. So unnecessary and also a shame, because Skims advocates for more inclusivity and body positivity. This level of Photoshop does not really fit into that narrative. And let's be honest: there is really nothing wrong with Tyra Banks' unphotoshopped body. Far from it.
I was really enthusiastic about this photoshoot (because: four icons all looking stunning) and then this is a bit disappointing. A downside for Skims, unfortunately.
