Oh no: salmonella found in Kinder Surprise

Say wine, snacks or haute cuisine and the gourmands at online food magazine FavorFlav know where to drink, how to eat it and what to cook. This time our cheffies serve you: Oh no, salmonella found in Kinder Surprise.
Yep, this is exactly the news you don't want to hear about your favorite chocolate... Because yes, seriously; Kinder chocolate is really my favorite. Those Easter eggs, I could write a trilogy about how much I love them, but in the end, nothing beats the classic Kinder Surprise. Where I used to be genuinely excited about the surprise inside, I now take a much more pragmatic approach: it goes straight into the trash. I only go for the chocolate around it now.
Buuut for now, I fear not. The salmonella bacteria has been found in these Surprise eggs and that's obviously not great news.
So far, only Belgium is affected
Our southern neighbors have been the only ones hit hard so far, but an investigation is also being conducted in the Netherlands regarding the Kinder Surprise eggs. And what terrible timing; just before Easter. It's more than logical that many parents buy these Surprises for their kids. Fingers crossed that we escape this.
Pay attention to this:
What to watch out for if you have a Kinder Surprise from Belgium (produced in the factory of parent company Ferrero in Belgian Arlon):
Kinder Surprise 20g and 3x20g with an expiration date (best before) between 11/07/22 and 7/10/22,
Kinder Surprise Maxi with an expiration date (best before) between 10/08/22 and 10/09/22
Schoko-Bons with an expiration date (best before) between 10/08/22 and 10/09/22
Kinder Mini Eggs with an expiration date (best before) between 10/08/22 and 10/09/22.
Not just animal products
The salmonella bacteria is often found in raw animal products, such as meat, eggs, and dairy products. A spokesperson for the Belgian FAVV (Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain) told the news channel VRT that salmonella can also occur on dry products produced in humid conditions, as likely happened with the chocolate in the factory in Arlon.
