Reverse washing is the latest trend on TikTok

tiktok

By now, we all know that TikTok is an incredibly educational (and very distracting) platform. During yet another round of aimless scrolling, I stumbled upon a fantastic trend that I absolutely cannot hide from you. It's a styling hack for beautiful shiny locks without having to put in extra effort. That sounds pretty good, right? And the nice thing is that you don't need to buy new products for this trend, because if all goes well, we all have a shampoo and a conditioner in the shower.

How does it work exactly? Well, as the name might suggest, this trend involves changing the order of your products while washing your hair. We are all used to using shampoo first and then conditioner, as it is stated on every package. But the next time you wash your locks, you should actually do it the other way around. So first, apply the conditioner to the ends of your hair and your scalp. Don't worry about flat hair, because you'll wash that conditioner out later. Let it sit for two minutes, and then it's time for shampoo. You wash your hair with the shampoo just like you always do. Quite simple, right?

The result? If we are to believe the TikTokers: a mane that looks fuller, softer, and shinier. They claim that applying conditioner first has made their hair softer because the hair can absorb the product better before the shampoo. How often should you do this? About once a week will work wonders. I haven't tried it myself yet, but I definitely think it's worth testing. Coincidentally, I have my wash scheduled for tonight (yes, I plan that), so I'm looking forward to it.

Hopefully, it will be just as successful as with these TikTokers:
