The Traitors: Discussing episode 7

the traitors the players

With a bit of mixed feelings, I start this episode, because I can feel in my rosé that it's going to be bad news. They really haven't forgotten Ortál. And of course, it's now episode seven and it really is a bit sad if they still can't kick a Traitor out, but still. Is there anyone watching who is #team loyal? No, right? Exactly. I just want those three to go to the final.

1. The first five minutes I really watched in a complete state of confusion. What is happening here and especially why? Why on earth does Jamie say he has the shield?!

2. Anyway, I would be ecstatic if I had the shield at the exact moment I was about to be killed, but Jamie looks rather stoic and as if he hasn't slept in eight days.

3. That Stefano is really the cutest: ‘Angry?! This is one of the best days of my life.’ Cute. Cuuuuute.

4. By the way, it wouldn't surprise me if Dionne ends up in the final. That sly fox seems so calm, but secretly knows much more.

5. It really has to be very strange for Ortál to survive this episode. She will probably survive, because so far every episode has been a sick mindfuck.

6. ‘What Jamie chooses, I will do too. Because there is — besides the fact that we know there are three traitors — one thing for eighty thousand million percent sure… And that is that Jamie can be trusted. Because he is a loyal one.’ Frank Evenblij, how did you watch this back?

7. I think I'm going to start a GoFundMe to fix a big trophy for Jamie with ‘Best Traitor Of All Time’ on it. Who's in?

8. Busy busy Babette, hoppa: just check the regulations. The scenario she sketches is really exactly how it went. But I don't want Jamie to go out. Then a complaint will go straight to RTL.

9. Holy shit, this competition. What a grim affair all of this is. With that night camera too, it seriously does no one any good when it comes to looks.

10. Babette has actually been quite cheeky all season, while she makes by far the most mistakes. Strange combo.

11. Oh no. Oh no, no, no. This is suddenly going completely wrong for Jamie. Was the plan really that transparent? And who on earth gave the regulations to Babette? Game spoiler.

12. It's so hilarious that every episode someone becomes extremely suspicious, only for them to seem to have forgotten the next day. Why is there suddenly talk about Toine, let alone Jamie, while less than 24 hours ago they wanted to kick Ortál out?

13. And the clumsiness of it all is that someone like Toine is really making himself suspicious, so the chance is suddenly quite present that a Loyal one will go out tonight.

14. Because realize that suddenly some eyes are on Jamie and of course on Ortál; that can only be because the Traitors decided that the rest was really too bad at the game to kill anyone.

15. In other words: if another Loyal one goes out, the name might as well be changed to: ‘What can you actually do?’

16. Hahaaaa. This speech from Stefano. ‘Traitors, I think you played cowardly.’ He is so in his role. Does this man ever get on stage to give a monologue? I would buy a ticket.

17. The people in that round room obviously don't hear the incredibly intense music in the background that we hear, but holy shit: can someone check if everything is okay with Stefano? He just swore on about everything in his life. I think people are really going to get aggressive when they find out about this twist. Does he have enough security?

18. Oh noooo. The Traitors. They have managed to survive until the seventh episode without losing a single person. How do I know that Ortál is going to confess to being a Traitor and yet my heart is in my throat? This series is really not good for my blood pressure.

19. Just unsolicited, unnecessary advice: I would kill Babette. Immediately. We don't need people who read the regulations in this program. And now she's also bothering everyone with all her theories that are really spot on. Exhausting.

20. And now she actually can't be killed anymore, because then Jamie becomes even more suspicious. What a MISERY.

21. You might already feel it a bit: I'm in a heavy gloomy mood. One Traitor out and I have zero confidence in a good outcome. Should I suddenly be rooting for the Loyal ones? Neuhhh.

22. Fingers crossed that they went for Steven. Otherwise, I really see it very bleak. So bitter too: for six episodes Jamie was everyone's confidant and suddenly: Boom. Bang. Gone.

23. I'm afraid for next week.
