Science says: watching porn is good for women and bad for men

Porn: it remains a topic on which people have the most diverse opinions. For example, some claim that by watching porn, you will find your partner less attractive and that your realistic view of sex fades, leading to your sex life suffering due to excessively high expectations. Others, on the other hand, are convinced that your sex life can get a huge boost from porn.
Well, I found an interesting study that claims watching porn has negative effects on men but can actually work positively for women. Aha: we want to know more about this.
French psychologist Nicolas Sommet, working at the University of Lausanne, conducted research for three years with a colleague, interviewing more than 100,000 individuals and heterosexual couples. Participants were asked how they see themselves as sexual partners, whether they function physically well during sex, and to what extent their partner appreciates the sex.
What turned out? Men score worse on all three points the more they watch porn. They reported experiencing insecurity and erectile problems. Well, that doesn't sound too good.
The women? They score higher on all three points when they watch porn more often. They see themselves as increasingly better sexual partners, function physically better during sex, and their partners are increasingly satisfied with the sex. A clear difference.
You might expect that this difference comes from the type of porn – soft porn vs. hard porn – being watched, but according to Sommet, this plays no role at all. How can the outcome be explained? According to the researchers, women compare themselves much less than men to the ladies in the films. They do not compare their sex life with what they see on their screens. For women, porn is actually more of a source of inspiration, making them more daring in bed, feeling increasingly liberated, and ultimately enjoying sex with their partner more. Meanwhile, men tend to compare themselves with the actors, which can lead to insecurity and ultimately poorer performance in bed.
Well, do what you want with this information, but I find this a pretty clear outcome.
