Whut: the fourth season of YOU is going to be very different

It seems that the most enjoyable series on Netflix also take the longest to come out with a new season. Case in point: YOU. Of course, it also has a bit to do with the fact that I binge-watch my favorite series literally in one day, so I have to look for the problem a bit within myself. But still, season 4 of YOU should be coming soon, right?
Although the question remains whether we will recognize the series again, if we are to believe Penn Badgley in conversation with Entertainment Tonight. He shared quite a few things about the fourth season, including where it will take place. In the third season, our Joe traveled to Paris, but he didn't stay there: the new season will take place in London. Why? Very simple: ‘To be real: it’s cheaper,’ Penn said. He also mentioned that the first four episodes have already been filmed in the English capital.
What else can we expect? According to Penn, this new setting will bring about some changes, also in Joe's personality, who feels freer than ever in London. Additionally, we will also see familiar faces return, such as Marianne. But that’s not all according to Penn: ‘There’s also some other familiar faces which I think I can say.’
So we will see familiar faces, but a familiar series: not so much. Because according to Penn, the approach will be quite different from what we are used to from YOU. ‘The tone is similar, but it’s shifting in that there is a different format. We’re using a different format. It’s almost like we’re shifting the genre slightly. And I think it works.’
Okay, nice that Penn is very optimistic, but I just want to know now. What other format? How should we interpret this? So many. Questions. Even more questions by the way, because when is the release date? Unfortunately, that is not yet known, but if I look into my own crystal ball, I guess it will be at the end of this year or maybe even the beginning of next year. The waiting continues…
